Joshua Christensen was born in a rural farming community in northern Iowa and was raised with a blue-collar work ethic, practical values, and an early appreciation for responsibility.
Growing up, Joshua loved sports, especially baseball, tennis, and wrestling. Like many Gen X kids, he also spent time collecting baseball cards, playing video games, and learning how to figure things out on his own.
At age 10, his family moved to Dallas, Texas, where his entrepreneurial instincts began to take shape. He looked for ways to earn money early, including mowing yards, selling items at school, and delivering newspapers. By age 15, he had his first formal job sacking groceries, where he began learning the value of showing up, working hard, and serving people well.
Joshua’s real estate journey began long before he became licensed to sell real estate. His early career included custom home construction in the Dallas area, where he gained hands-on experience with how homes are built, improved, and valued. That practical foundation later became a major advantage in helping clients understand property condition, renovation potential, and long-term value.
His career also included service in the United States Navy, bank management, mortgage lending, real estate investing, house flipping, multifamily ownership, private money, property management, and brokerage leadership. Over more than 30 years, Joshua has worked across multiple sides of the real estate industry, giving him a broad perspective that goes beyond a typical buyer or seller transaction.

After working in banking and mortgage lending, Joshua experienced firsthand how the financial system shapes the way people think about money, debt, housing, and retirement. During the Great Recession, he faced serious financial adversity of his own. That season became a turning point. Instead of allowing the setback to define him, Joshua used it as fuel to rebuild, rethink money, and deepen his commitment to real estate investing, financial education, and helping others make better decisions.
Joshua became licensed to sell real estate in New Mexico in 2012 and now serves as a Qualifying Broker, Realtor®, real estate investor, private money broker, property manager, author, and founder of Door Life TV. Through Christensen Properties, powered by Realty One of New Mexico, he helps buyers, sellers, investors, landlords, and property owners throughout Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, and surrounding New Mexico communities.
His approach is direct and practical: real estate is not just a transaction. It is a decision that can affect equity, cash flow, lifestyle, retirement, and long-term financial control.
Joshua is also the author of GET UNBROKE, a financial wake-up call designed to help people rethink money, debt, income, and financial literacy. His work challenges conventional financial thinking and encourages people to move from consumer-based habits toward income-producing systems, disciplined ownership, and practical financial clarity.

Joshua is committed to giving back through faith, financial education, mentorship, and community service.
As a church leader, he has served, mentored, and supported people through different seasons of life. His faith shapes the way he approaches business, leadership, family, money, and service.
Through financial education and real estate guidance, Joshua helps people confront financial stress, understand their numbers, think differently about income, and take more ownership of their future.

His message is not based on hype or shortcuts. It is built on responsibility, mindset, knowledge, skillset, stewardship, and action.
Joshua also supports local causes, mentors young adults, and participates in community-building efforts.
His mission is to help people develop the tools, confidence, and mindset needed to create stronger financial futures and lasting impact.
True financial freedom, in his view, is not only about money. It is an inside job.
Joshua’s greatest source of strength, next to God, is his family.
He has been married for 27 years and is the proud father of two children and grandfather to six grandchildren. Through every season of life, Joshua has learned that true wealth is not only measured in dollars, properties, or business success. It is measured in legacy, faith, family, and the impact we leave behind.
Outside of work, Joshua and his wife enjoy traveling, hiking, camping, hunting, catching baseball games, and spending time at local wineries. He also enjoys the outdoors, meaningful conversations, and the kind of simple experiences that remind him why building a better financial future matters in the first place.
At the heart of Joshua’s work is a simple belief: the best investments are not only the ones we make in property, but the ones we make in people, family, faith, and the future.
